Tour Overview:
Coonawarra Unearthed is a full day through the heart of one of Australia's greatest wine regions, hosted personally by Coonawarra Experiences. Travelling in a small group of up to ten guests, you will visit four to five of the region's finest cellar doors, meet the winemakers, explore the history of the terra rossa strip and sit down to a proper lunch. This is not a shuttle bus with a clipboard. It is a genuine hosted experience built on local knowledge, real relationships and a deep love of the Limestone Coast.

Itinerary:
- Picked up from your Penola or Coonawarra accommodation at 11 am
- Begin at Wynns Coonawarra, the region's pioneering winery established in 1896. Go behind the scenes, meet the winemakers and taste some of the finest Cabernet Sauvignon grown on terra rossa soil anywhere in Australia
- Stop at the Coonawarra Railway Siding and hear the story of how this remarkable wine region came to be in the late 1800s
- Visit a terra rossa soil profile and discover the unique geology that makes Coonawarra wines so distinctive
- Continue through four to five cellar doors, each offering a different perspective on the region and its people
- Sit down to a set menu winter lunch at Parker Estate, one of Coonawarra's most celebrated properties. Locally sourced Limestone Coast produce, dishes built around Parker Estate wines and dessert with a glass of Fine Old Tawny. Available from June to 31 August 2026, included in the tour price
- Return to your accommodation by 5 pm
