We had some lovely guests from Melbourne who decided to stop over in Penola/Coonawarra on their way back from Adelaide after witnessing their beloved Hawks lose the semi-final.
Although their team didn`t win, they managed to have a great time in our region.

The Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia (CMCA) is currently holding its national rally in Mount Gambier, and we’ve had the pleasure of hosting over 50 guests on tours showcasing the best of our stunning region. Over the past week, we’ve explored the breathtaking Yallum Park and visited the renowned Wynns Coonawarra, offering our guests unforgettable experiences highlighting Penola and Coonawarra`s beauty and rich history.
Chardonnay Lodge in Coonawarra took care of our guests’ appetites, and we even had time to wander down Penola’s charming main street, where we indulged in the local sweet shop and other welcoming emporiums.
The CMCA team shared that they track their daily spending per person, and in just three days, over $90k has already been injected into the Limestone Coast economy! By the rally`s end, they aim for an incredible $500k.
It`s been an absolute pleasure hosting the CMCA rally members, and we’re looking forward to welcoming the solo travellers when they return to Penola in October for another exciting week-long stay!
