This is my new best friend, Vivian.

Vivian is 91 years young and visiting from the UK with her son and daughter-in-law, exploring our beautiful region together.

I’ll admit… I had to earn my keep yesterday! Vivian kept me on my toes, firing questions left, right and centre about the history, the wines, and the people who have shaped this place into what it is today.

An absolute delight to host, with a sharp mind and a wonderful sense of humour.

Now I’m just hoping she doesn’t jump on Google to fact-check later!

When you’re driving from Melbourne to Adelaide for Gather Round… sometimes the best stops aren’t on the footy field.

We hosted St Kilda forward Jack Higgins, who spent time exploring the Limestone Coast, and one of the first stops was a local favourite in Mount Gambier — Scroll Queen.

Owner Dylan welcomed Jack behind the counter, where he got to try his hand at finishing off their famous cinnamon scrolls.

The team even surprised him with custom St Kilda themed scrolls to take away.

If you`re heading to Gather Round, take the scenic route and leave a little time to explore the Limestone Coast along the way.

You never know what you might discover.
